Who is God? (the search for transcendance)

In the Old Testament book of Jeremiah, the Lord says,  “Let not the wise boast of their wisdom
or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness,
justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the LORD. To know God is the supreme goal of life.  As the Westminister Cathecism puts it, the most important thing in life is to glorify God and enjoy him forever.

If there is an almighty, all-knowing, loving God, what else should occupy our intentions and motivations except knowing him as much as he is interested in being known.  The amazing news of the Christian faith is that God knows us personally and wants to be known by us!

This may be foreign to you.  That’s fine!  Journey3 is a movement of searchers.  We are on this journey together and everyone is invited to walk along.
